Mogwai – Rave Tapes

Mine has no audible scratch on side A, even though it's not a completely silent pressing either (it has some surface noise). Overall, I find this a correct, though not terrific pressing. As for the music, I think it is one of Mogwai's best. Although not a huge departure from their previous records, it includes some welcome novelties, for instance the Carpenter-like electronic flourishes of "Remurdered" (my favorite track). And I think "Blues Hour" is one of their best non-instrumental tracks.

My copy has a big audible scratch too, right across the whole of Remurdered. Massive shame because I want to turn up that breakdown really loud but the periodic pop just kills it.

Anyone else have a noisy pressing? Bought this new, gave it a full wet wash, yet still sounds close to VG at times with the amount of crackle.

Same problem here in France, I bought a brand new copy sealed. I had to return to the shop because it is scratched in the middle of song #3 and beginning of song #5 on side A

A couple of reviewers on Amazon.co.uk have also reported poor quality pressings, despite replacement copies.
