Awesome re issue. Sounds great. As good or better than my original copy of CSNY Deja Vu sounds. Which is very beat up after so many miles on it.

Minus Neil Young, the most overrated group of songwriters in history.

My runouts are a match but the label has "A Warner Communications Company" so *shrug*

Mine says copyright 2018, not 2020...

Other than that, it's clear ('cloudy'?) and the sticker on the back says it was made in Italy.

Flat and nice-sounding copy, don't have anything to compare it to. Enjoyable for sure.

This is, of course, one of the most pointless "best ofs" ever released, as CSN + CSNY had only released two studio albums to pick from, plus the Ohio/Find the Cost of Freedom non-LP single. As those up on their CSNY lore know, a brand-new CSNY album was penciled in for 1974, to correspond with their stadium tour. For the usual reasons, the group blew it and no new material surfaced. So this is what fans got as a substitute. So, does it work? For the most part, it does. This leans on the folkier side of the band; omitting the bouncy pop of Marrakesh Express and the guitar 'n' harmonies workout of Everybody I Love You in favor of more pensive material like Guinnevere and Helpless. As such, the album isn't very beefy; only Ohio provides rock muscle. But if this presents the group in a softer light than usual, it fits nicely into the background. Put it on when you want something inobtrusive playing at dinner or something, but familiar enough to inspire you to hum along if you like. If you already own another comp, particularly the CSN box set of 1991, there really is zero need to own this album, and on CD it is a pretty paltry collection that leaves a lot of unused disc space. But as a hybrid of their two albums, it is a decent distillation. Plus, you get the Joni Mitchell jacket art. I bought it on CD just to be a completist, but I do sometimes play it in lieu of the 'real' albums, just to change things up.

mine is made in italy with crystal clear vinyl so maybe a different pressing. sounds pretty good. digital cut i think but who knows
