Fantastic release, and incredible pressing quality. Amongst the loudest and cleanest vinyl records in my collection. Superb sonics.

No duds, I love this whole album.

This sounds like a pirate dub station broadcast from a prison planet. I've never heard anything quite like it before or since.

Too much Howie B, not enough Sly & Robbie. I do appreciate that they were trying something new, but it's more like Howie B trying out dub rather than Sly & Robbie trying out downtempo. Also it's just very late '90s in that even the more traditional sounding numbers have a dated, cold "electronica" treatment that I have yet to be nostalgic for. Even as just ear candy, it's not all that great. You never go "whoa, where'd that come from" or "man, these guys are crazy, and holy shit I am so f'ing high right now".

I'll never forget the impact this album had on my brother & I the first time we heard it in 1999 when it landed on planet Earth.
It is such an alien sounding dub record that it really does sound like it was produced on Mars.
Howie B really has to be given mad props on this one as he's taken some classic rock solid Jamaican riddims by the absolute No.1 rhythm section on the planet Sly & Robbie and he has worked his magic in the studio to create what I still consider to be the best and most unique sounding contemporary dub album on the planet.
I have been waiting with my fingers crossed since 99 for Howie B and Sly & Robbie to get back in the studio again. I think it will happen again at some point as I know Howie B would love to hook up with the Riddim Twins again.
However until then the Sonic Gods have been kind to us over the last few years with Sly & Robbie releasing 2 absolutely spectacularly stunning dub albums with the legendary & mysterious studio wizard Groucho Paul Smykle...GET THOSE NOW!!!!
Dubrising & One Fine Dub by Sly & Robbie produced by Groucho Paul Smykle.

This is a fantastic album, What I don't get is that there is no reference here to the release in Japan with an extra track 13. Found out it was Software Surge remixed.
