- The album is excellent but this appears to be a pirate copy, probably a vinyl rip. There is some low-level crackle. I made my own version from vinyl and mine sounds cleaner, although the CD is OK.
There is a dubious disclaimer in the notes: "Due to the obscurity of some of the albums released on this record label, we are occasionally unable to locate the owners of the master recordings. As we have no desire to deprive the owners of their royalties or license fees, we have created an escrow account in the hope that the rightful owners will see these releases and contact us. This approach is far from desirable but it is the only way we can bring this music to a wider audience. Thank you for understanding in this matter.”
Apparently this statement is used by UK bootleggers. The rightful owners (the band) live near me and I know one of the band (albeit not from the original line-up). The original label, Regal Zonophone, is now owned by Warner Music Group and they can't be that hard to find.
