Bob Marley & The Wailers – Natty Dread

These half-speed masters are just brilliant. The sound is simply amazing.

I believe this to be 1974 Japanese first press mis-listed here as a reissue.

Excellent sound and quiet vinyl, definitely a pressing worth seeking out. It’s big and punchy with clear clean vocals out front. Hard to imagine there’s a better pressing of this record.

My version has runouts identical to those above (including 1-1 STERLING and 1-1sm1-1 STERLING on sides A and B respectively) but both sides also contain SRC on both A and B sides

Does anyone have an opinion on how this compares to the earlier Back to Black version that's also on sale?

Mine appears to match this variant but mine has a large lyrics insert with black n white pictures I’m not the original owner so I’m not sure if the insert is original to the album.

Can anyone add some scans of back cover and labels please? I suspect this maybe a New Zealand pressing, as it has same matrix run out.

I have a copy, I think of this version, but to be sure - what code does your copy have on the runout about a third the way round from the main code cited above ?
I have: 'A11' on side 'A' and 'B5' on side 'B' (in each case with the number (11 or 5) raised up about half the lettering height).
As for the Matrix/Runout codes listed above, on Side 1 only, I have BETWEEN the '1' and the '380' a '001' which has been 'crossed out' via the overlay of x5 'X's. Side 2 does not have this. Obviously the man in charge of the stamping machine had been on the bevvies the night before :-) .
Also, you have this release listed as Issued in 1975, but also in the 'Notes' as Published in 1974.
Why this difference (in my copy, on the inner sleeve at bottom of one side it has P 197* where * could be, maybe, a '4' but could be interpreted as a 'square' also.
Confusing, to say the least..

Great Marley album. The entire A-side is filled with unforgettable classics. The B-side has a bit more filler to it, but it's still strong stuff, and ends with the great "Revolution". When it comes to "No Woman, No Cry", I always think to the live version, but this upbeat tempo take is equally great. All in all, an amazing album.

Big, warm sound. Imaging is on point. Bob is right there smack dab in the middle. Noise free, flat, heavy vinyl that came in a poly lined sleeve. I have nothing to compare it to, but this excellent to my ears
