I had a luck to purchase this issue in EU without any taxes. Very well spent 70€. This cut is absolutely fabulous. Fantastic punch, awesome Marvin's vocal. Great sound stage... Just close your eyes... Good indeed. Pressing is as well pretty good for GZ (i do not have good experience with them). Perfect partnership for my Japan Detroit mix issue which is with respect to the sound great as well.

Today i listen to this again.Definitely,like what Rolling Stone said,one of the best Pop,Soul and funk album ever, Marvin is a Genius.

My copy sounds and plays perfect. No surface noise. Very pleased.

This is superb. It is indeed a very fine sounding record. Living in UK I'd held off buying a copy of the EU version. So very glad I did, I managed to get hold of this US pressing and it was worth the wait. There's a few goose-bumps that haven't gone down yet! GZ hasn't lived up to it's bad reputation, this pressing, or my copy at least doesn't suffer from any clicks, pops or non fill. To be fair, I've not had a bad GZ pressing in quite a while.

Go for the 1984 or 1987 re-issue pressings, as they sound superior to the original pressings, and are on Quieter vinyl.

You definitely shouldn't pay more than $10 or $20 unless it's in VG+ grade or above. Keep digging!

For the $15 I paid for a new sealed copy, I'm satisfied with this pressing. The low end sounds good, there's plenty of bass, vocals/harmonies are clear, soundstage is lush and full, as it should be. The vinyl isn't exactly flat, but it doesn't affect play, and my copy is free of snaps, crackles, pops, or other surface noise.

Ok my story of this .... missed the first disatrous version the first time around which people were saying it was this and that not by KG and all this ... Then I waited and bought the day the so called second edition of this was released I bought it on Amazon yes Amazon and the sticker said KG name and was made at Precision in Canada. Played on 4 sides all flawless all of it ... Side 4 the only thing I wondered about was and believe that the mono singles were in fact taken from the mono 45 singles vinyl transfers done by Kevin Gray and probably would of sound worse if they were done by someone else ... Or maybe he did only the tapes for WGO ... I don't know there's no story to this .... But the big SIGH is I don't have to buy another copy of this ....Unless a big Tornado comes and takes me and Marvin into the stratosphere ... Oh yea the only bummer was no photos came with it ... Nice shiny cover that opens up and 2 records inside and that's it ... I heard the first edition had all this extra stuff that I grabbed from this site lol ... This edition seems to get no love (maybe the MOFI One Step has swept it all away for anything else?) and as great as that recent 2 disc version is of course, there are still incredible single LP black versions out there featuring fantastic AAA mastering for a low price. This is one of them!
IF you prefer to hear this masterpiece on 2 sides, instead of being broken (unforgivably in my book) across 4 slabs of wax, and don't fancy an OG US 70's Motown copy for whatever reason, pick this one up for maybe half the beans and prepare to be very very satisfied.
