Great noiserock extravaganza by two guys and a Yow.

After checking out some clips on YouTube I became quite intrigued by this trio, consisting of just a drummer (who sings as well) and a guitar player (who also sings as well) and a singer (who whispers and screams and what not as well). Formerly they were just a duo, but then former The Jesus Lizard frontman David Yow entered the picture.

For this album they only wrote a few things together as a trio and adapted the rest of it to Yow's range. One song I later heard was also on their debut 'Baby Kisses', but that album is altogether very much a DEBUT album, and really shows why Yow should be with Qui (he already left the band again, though, unveryfortunately). And then there's two (Zappa and Floyd) covers.

Some of it will sound somewhat familiar if you are familiar with the noiserock genre, but Qui has its own formidable energy and all three are very competent musicians. Nuff said, try it out and enjoy!

5 stars from me, and very much looking forward to their next album (supposedly called 'Life Water Living'). I can't wait, even though Yow won't be a part of it...
