Reviews
- A rating of 3.85... Really? I did struggle with the "fake horns" on the first track of side 1 when I listened to it for the first time either, but everything else is just great. It is one of those albums that you need to listen to three, four times, before it really unfolds all its beauty and subtle songwriting. Once you get there, you probably will listen to it differently. I really love both of their collaborations, and I am grateful to own both as nicely manufactured double vinyl editions. Highly recommended!

Bought recently on vinyl from Chazza here in Sheffield the Home of Warp for Ten Pounds and I Love it.
Really well produced and I knew nothing about this release but will check the other release now.- Magnificent. An easy transit from UK to Germany, from tradition to the mixture. With a deep sense of social life. Don't be afraid of the tools, look how they use them and how, for which ambition.
- Edited 3 years agoThis is the second 'Eno vs Hyde' album that I got because I generally love everything that Underworld touches.
This seems a lot more upbeat than 'High Life' and I like it a lot more. It reminds me more in parts to Underworld first album - 'Underneath the Radar' - which was a lot more pop-focused and a noticeably different style than their later more electronic work.
It still has a lot of experimentalism as you would expect from Eno's involvement but generally it seems to work a lot better for me. referencing Someday World (2×LP, Album) WARPLP249
agreed with the other review. once you get past the fake horns on the first track it's really a great return to form for Eno. my copy sounds great too, but I do find it irritating that it's a 2xLP despite only being about 44 minutes. especially since the 4 bonus tracks are nice and would've made a good Side D.referencing Someday World (2×LP, Album) WARPLP249
Besides the fact that this is simply a phenomenal record that everyone should listen to, especially those that wrote it off seemingly right upon its release, it's also got a real nice sound to the vinyl. Dynamic and warm. A tiny amount of surface noise, but not much and definitely no pops and clicks or static. Amazing album. Seems like not enough people know this.- Hmm. Not sure this should be listed as a separate version. The 'X' suffix and slightly different barcode only appear on the labels stuck to the outer shrink wrapping. Apart from the exclusive art print the contents are identical to the standard UK & Europe release.
