If anyone in the UK has a copy to sell, I’m interested.

Just received this copy sealed new from a seller on ebay. It’s dished, but playable. The sound is flawless and beautiful for a masterpiece record. Overall pleased.

Pretty killer pressing with plenty of bass. Don't have an OG UK press to compare, but needless to say "The Old Man's Back Again" just rips out of your speakers as it should. If you'd rather not spend 250$-300$ on a UK copy, maybe try this one?

Maybe I was lucky, I’ve read bad reviews about this reissue but my copy sounds wonderful, up there with the original pressing from ‘69 and the vinyl box set that was released some years ago and the first cd reissue. It’s a classic album that only gets better with the passing of time. Either way, it’s a must hear album. Compared to the big selling albums of that era it’s light years ahead of it’s time. Only Nico’s “The Marble Index” eclipse’s it - but then again by the time Scott released “Tilt” he had eclipsed everybody.

This should have been so good, but I've simply given up after trying *nine* copies, over a number of months. Every single copy I've had has been dished, and every single copy had an extremely visible pressing fault at the beginning of the first side. Sadly, everything you've seen on forums and online reviews is true. There is clearly only a single pressing, so all copies have the same faults. Universal really cocked this one up, and I'm afraid I struggle with comments about 'flat' and 'perfect' copies of this release. My experience, spread over several months, absolutely opposes this. It makes me wonder if the positive reviewers have actually played the record. A record clamp makes the pressing playable, albeit with significant tracking issues, and the fault on the first track is unavoidable. I also agree with other comments about the mastering. It has been subject to pronounced digital tweaking, with compression, midrange bloom and bass boost, sounding far closer to the later CD mastering than an original Philips LP. The cheap 1990s Fontana CD is way better!

This reissue sounds superb. The pressing is very clean (and heavyweight), the sonics are rich yet detailed and the gatefold sleeve is also impressive quality.

Ok so finally got a copy. Iv been pleased with some other of the half speed masters that abbey road have done so when i saw that they had done "Scott 4" i had to see (even if the reviews weren't to good. This isn't a bad pressing....its also not a good pressing. Its got depth and a really rich and warm sound, as many of the half speed masters do but, the mastering itself is really not the best. What ever they have used as the sauce material is hi-res but in adding De-Esser and various other compressors, its just made it messy. The bass its not as snappy and just gives out a sub tone that isn't really supposed to be there. Also come on the fade out on track one just stops. the pressing itself is fine. come on people its a record you will get dust and static in these things unless you have a Zero G room in your house. £25 for a sub par pressing...better than a scratched £100 original i suppose.
