- Edited 3 years agoWhat a belter. At first it (coisa nossa) sounds quite hard, but then these acid type synths drop and the mood softens nicely. The tribal drums take on an echoey thunderous vibe and you quickly realize this is a deep and complex killer track.
B side is equally impressive, with a sample from ennio morricone man with harmonica. And it works perfectly! - Rui da Silva really knew how to make the deepest progressive house back in the day. This pulls you in with pulsing bass notes, shifting percussion and a synth note that sounds like a shard of glass cutting through the darkness.
- Edited 20 years agoI first heard this track on Parks & Wilson's seminal 2000 Essential Mix. What I heard then has not aged one bit. The track is a strange hybrid of heavily-compressed bass, filtered tribal percussion and organic, almost ghostly washes and synths. There's so much going on that it becomes more than a track; it becomes a fusion of vocal snippets, reverberating samples and dark twisted effects that meld effortlessly under Da Silva's expert touch over a deep and penetrating bass and percussion line. An astonishing aural accomplishment, and I continue to be amazed by it every time it put it on.
- "Coisa Nossa" is one of those rare tracks, that you do remember, after hearing it once or twice.
This is a deep, even deepest, Tech-House tunes I ever heard.
Probably because of those long ambient pads they use.
It got that "spacy" feeling, some tribal beats, and also simple catchy melody.
This records make you realy listen, and not only moving your feet.
