The Da Hool Remix is something worth to check. It's not his usual sound, it's more deeper if I can say that.
So sad that it's hard to find in good quality!

Why oh why oh why... did someone at Armada think it was a good idea to take the riff that is centre stage on the instrumental mix and also appears in the vocal mix and discard it completely from the vocal mix, in favour of repeating the chorus on this download release? What possesses these people? What makes them think fans of the original tunes, who bought them on vinyl first time round and now want a digital copy, want them changed? Who do they think they are? Do they think we won't notice?

'The vocal mix of 'Wilderness' is a lesson in how to do vocal trance - top production and sympathetic and subtle vocalising from Shena. I only knew the instrumental version of 'Wilderness' till recently and it takes a lot to tickle my jaded palate these days but this performance is 10 out of 10 all the way for me. Darren Tate has always been one of our top trance artists and his knowledge of classical music often seeped through into his productions and give them a light and shade that less talented producers lacked.

Darren Tate's dutch sounding project went on with its third single and while 'The Theme' had its charm (and the remix by DuMonde) to keep it strong. Its subsequent singles 'Opera Song' and 'Wilderness' really didn't hold up long, and both went over the line with its cheesiness.

'Wilderness' was a blend between both previous singles but it was rather uninteresting until Da Hool cut his teeth into it. What we have here is a really toned-down version of the original, still maintaining the melody and its pads but adding a darker foundation with it. Hool also took Shena's vocals and cut them up into small nonsensical pieces and reassembled them into some gibberish version of the vocal hook.
