Beautiful 'in-house' mixx. A large, wild, stoner, tonic selection of records with true techno spirit. The 'uninspired way' described ealier is biased due to the non-spirit approach this mix asks, and why not? It has a proper and freaky, unusual narration that goes down (and up!) with a radiant intro and some 'classix' that could only get you more crazy when you get the way it is mixed, and that's when Surgeon's 'Atol' gets blended that you understand the spirit of it... Dj Hell is not here to draw you technicity, but a proper dj-mix, for your mind, body and soul. This is obscure boogish-housy-disko-tekno. A pure trip!

Superb track selection. this tape, later CD and the VHS tape were my own introduction into Chicago House and legit underground Techno and House. You never forget your first: at that time people in my home town, proper ravers, were more into Hard Trance/Goa Trance or Hardcore Gabba Techno especially ID&T childish Thunderdome/Terrordrome compilations.so this was something new and good.

what a sampler, every single track is a classic and its cheap. bought it in the 90s and still listen to it..

This mix contains some really great tracks, but it's mixed in a very sloppy and uninspired way.

            I give it 6/10.

Of all the releases in the X Mix series, this is probably the best one, save Kevin Saunderson's. Using some of his fave acid/deep house moments as well as a couple of under-appreciated techno tracks, Hell creates a deep emotional mixing experience that still occupies a regular spot in my cd changer to this day. IMO, this is the finest mix that Hell has ever released.
