I discovered the album two weeks ago and was instantly lost in it. Sound and voice are absolutely fantastic and timeless! Love it!referencing Bozo (CD, Album) shimmy-046
This is one of the most brilliant and under-appreciated albums EVER. I discovered it doing college radio in '91 and was blown away, I dubbed a copy (off vinyl onto cassette!) and proceeded to wear it out. As far as I am concerned the album was so far ahead of its time that it was largely ignored. I've lived in Austin TX for 15yrs, and we have a huge music scene, and I swear we are just catching up to the lush, floaty, shoegaze sound of this release NOW. I actually lost track of the album till a few days back when I re-discovered it on spotify. Sometimes a thing does not compare well to fond memories, but in this case, having stayed a dedicated musician, multi instrumentalist and sound recordist straight through since then, (check out origamiSoundLab.com for examples), I am even more blown away. Lush layered vocals, brilliant drum sounds, odd and well placed vocal samples. deeply and strangely effected instruments and fantastic unexpected changes within songs. Layered and lush and fully unique, with great keyboard/organ stuff, and slide guitar. The lyrics and melodies are so odd and solid and unique but so so universal at the same time. Where, oh where, is the recognition that this album so richly deserves?
