I am wondering if this CD has some kind of 2005-era copy protection on it. Picked up a second hand copy recently - it plays fine in my Denon CD player / in my car, but any attempt to rip it to a computer results in an unlistenable / distorted mess.

Extremely loud, brickwalled. Music is great but mastering destroyed it. Waiting for a more dynamic mastering. This album deserves it

Anyone have this? I'm curious as to whether or not it's a Loudness War-free mastering, or maybe even the one used for the vinyl. Obviously paying £10+ for a 15 year-old CD-R is a mug's game though.

Classic example of a band with only one decent album in them (see also, The Dead 60s) . I couldn't get enough of this in 2006. Bought a lot of the singles for the remixes (Wrong Tom's a good 'un) and this album is a fine listen. I can't in all honesty recommend any of their other albums though.

Amazing pressing! This is by far one of the best pressings in my collection. If you are a fan of this album, I would recommend it if you can find one.
