Saxon – Saxon

A decent sounding record for a poorly recorded album. The songs are solid but that original production is a bit messy.

Very nice sound for a picture disc, it’s clear and the typical PD sound is almost absent. At least, that’s my opinion.

Essential to any metal collection just for the picture on the rear...Steve's the most noticeable in his 1920s Parisian mime artist atire and ponce...Paul's looking like a country trucker with nicely ironed synthetic slacks...probably an elastic waist going on behind that guitar...Graeme Souness never did get rumbled for his 'ey La, I'm paying gitaah in Saxon me' and Biff's looking great of course...Now..this is not just bad enough...they use a shot from a working men's club gig complete with Bernard Manning curtains - thing about this pic...it kind of exemplifies just how amazing this band were...how the hell can you look that bad and become so huge...for me not as good as the second album but you can't go wrong with Saxon.

This LP was not released by Carrere, but by RGE instead.

this is a beautiful swirl splatter color vinyl version of the first debut saxon lp, the vinyl looks really nice and the printed inner sleeve has a lot of great photos from the 1979 era, really well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this was a decent picture disc released back in 05 of the debut saxon lp that was released in 1979, this record though very raw is still very underrated 38 years on.......................

There are one problem. On my sleeve, on the back, i have cat# CARS 67.331
On spine i have the same, and below DISQUES CARRÉRE, and on the bottom DISTRIBUTION CARRÉRE. One more thing, on the back on sleeve i have also catalog nr for cassette, cat# TC-CARS 67.331. Should i add a new release?

this is a really nice japanese copy of the debut saxon record from 1979, the japan pressed records back in these days always sounded superior to us and european ones so the sound is fantastic!!!!, this as you can see from the photo comes with a nice thick early 80s red obi strip and a lyric inner with lyrics and a bio in both japanese and english....................
