Saxon – The Eagle Has Landed (Live)

Very raw recording. Feedback all over and distorted. this pressing has no bass on my copy. i have to crank my eq all the way up.
still fkn awesome, Saxon's best record.

If you've got any interest in exploring Saxon, this early live record is filled with high energy, hard rocking performances that definitely don't disappoint. It really gives you a great sense of the power this band had in their earliest days.

I still have my worn-out original 1982 pressing. I must have played it hundreds of time... This one looks and sounds great. No surface noise at all. "Ninety tons of thunder" \m/

I first started going to see Saxon on their '83 US tour, so this record has great sentimental value as it's very close to the concerts I saw. All the things you want to hear well performed, decent recording by The Mobile. The guitar tones on "Princess of the Night", "20,000", and "Never Surrender" sound BETTER than their studio counterparts. Love Biff's stage patter too. Always a rockin' show.

Can you blame me for wanting to hear "The Eagle Has Landed", which was always a highlight of a Saxon show. However, that song does not appear until "Power and the Glory". What a tease.

Pressing is decent enough. 3.25 stars.

Vinyl not quite FLAT = wraped especially on side A. Sound quality so-so.

Is it me or is there a typo on the reverse of the album sleeve of this copy? It says "TRACKING: BIFF: VOCALS: EQUIPMENT: SHURE SM78 MICROHONES:??? Is that standard on this repress can anyone check on theirs? Really not a problem was just curious!

well this is the end and last issue on bmg/union square label regarding the 2018 saxon color vinyl reissues that cover saxon from 1979 through 1988, they left this live classic from 1982 for last for whatever reason, anyway like all 9 other studio lps this is the tenth and the nicest vinyl reissue of this live classic on vinyl to date, i bought this brand new back in the spring of 1982 i remember, all tracks where culled from the original denim & leather uk/european tour in the autumn of 1981, this was pressed on beautiful red & black splatter thick vinyl, the sleeve is thick and the inner sleeve has vintage photos from this 1981 tour on one side and the lyrics to all tracks on the other side, these are the nicest saxon vinyl reissues from this era i have seen since the original lps where released and i bought most of them as new uk imports back in the 1980s as i discovered saxon in 1981. THIS IS A CLASSIC LIVE HM LP!!!!!!!!

this is a fantastic japan edition of this classic live lp released in 1982, this japan edition comes with a nice thick red obi strip and a sheet with lyrics and an essay in both english and japanese, classic live album recorded on the european tour in 1981

this is another great saxon classic reissued on red thick color viynl from saxons live 1982 classic, this 2011 reissue comes in a nice gatefold sleeve and the second disc is expanded of more soungs from the 1981 european tour this lp was recorded during, the bonus lp tracks where recorded in the uk, i remember buying this lp new back in 1982 and did not understand then why this was not a double lp then, well it took 30 years but here it is.....
