This album DESERVES a vinyl release. There are so many great songs; Sign Of The Times, You, Some People Fly, Spool, Chasing Blue Sky. I don’t really understand why they haven’t done an official release; I’m guessing license issues. But I’m hoping this year (or the coming) they’ll eventually do an official releasereferencing Hear In The Now Frontier (CD, Album) E2-56141
Every song is perfection and the sound quality on this release is great. You really can't go wrong with Queensrÿche from this era. As long as Geoff Tate and Chris DeGarmo are in the line up, you should be good to go.- Looking at the credits it is clear why the rest of the band blamed Chris De Garmo for the failure to capture the audience attention which corollary led DeGarmo quitting Queensrÿche.
Musically we don't have a masterpiece as RfO or OM and Empire, but a turning point for Queensrÿche which led to record better albums such as Q2k and Tribe - I'm probably the only one, but I'd love to see this get a vinyl release someday. It's the final album by the original lineup, and the last album from the EMI years. Plus, I don't hate the album. Maybe for the 25th anniversary next year..?

This is the moment where Queensryche started getting lame. Even the band themselves seem to think this as they had a side gig in a Queensryche cover band that only played the albums before this. That's actually where they recruited their new lead singer from when they kicked the old one (Geoff Tate) out of the band for being a megalomaniac. Also...how weird is the idea of a Queensryche cover band where all the band members other than the lead singer are the real members of Queensryche? That's like something out of an episode of Metalocalypse. But it happened. Geoff Tate's constant insistence that they play more rock than metal, constant changing of songs behind their backs (removing stuff from the mix so it sounded less metal), and constant ego trips made the entire rest of the band pine for the old days when they were a progressive metal band. Eventually it all culminated in the band kicking the Geoff out, him claiming whatever band he rolled with was Queensryche, and a court battle that ended with the judge deciding both camps should release 1 album as Queensryche and let the fans decide which Queensryche they liked better. 2013's Queensrÿche (2) - Frequency Unknown (F.U.) from the Tate camp was released, and a self titled album from the original band was released, and everyone seemed to agree that the original band with the world's best Geoff Tate impersonator sounded better than the real Geoff Tate with a whole new backing band. The 2013 album Queensrÿche - Queensrÿche and the 2 that followed ( Queensrÿche - Condition Hüman and Queensrÿche - The Verdict ) ended up being the best Queensryche albums since 1994's Queensrÿche - Promised Land .
So yeah, Hear In The Now Frontier is a historically important album in Queensryche's career...just not in a good way.
