I bought this edition more than ten years ago and the other day I wanted to listen to this masterpiece again so I took it out and clean it. Apart from some light toc in the very beginning of A1 and B1 (due to press) the sound is clean, in your face, bright, clear, as a record like this should be. Recommended.

FYI…the lenticular “cover” isn’t actually attached to the cover. Once you remove the shrink, it’s a loose 12x12 lenticular print. You’ll have to store the record in an outer sleeve in order to have it serve as the cover, or chance damage and store it inside with the record.

Just picked this one up. And I agree with Capttcb that it sounds great. I listened to my copy of r4468276 and I think that copy beats this one slightly. It has more life to it.
This release is nice in that the there is minimal surface noise and it comes with a demo, which is also a great song BTW. But I think I prefer my copy from ‘85 just a little more.
If you dont have an older copy, this one is fantastic and will do just fine to add to your collection. If you dont have the earlier release to compare it to this stands on it’s on as very nice reissue and I’m happy to add it to my collection.
I would love to have someone reputable remaster this. Maybe at the 50 year anniversary. :)
It sounds great. Loud and punchy like 80's metal was supposed to sound. I have two first pressings and this sounds slightly more neutral. The first pressings sound a little hotter to my ears. Either way I'm enjoying it
I was fortunate enough to come home with a copy of this that looks practically unplayed. Absolutely awesome condition. Still has the shrinkwrap on it. The vinyl is just ridiculous. That said... what a beastly mix on this press. It sounds utterly fantastic!!! Thick, full bass. Crisp and clear mids/highs. Great balance. The person reviewing before me said "thunder shaking the house". I agree completely. Killer.

This Allied pressing never fails to startle (in a good way) after listening to other records from a large collection of first pressings. Dynamic, balanced, and LOUD.
Just wanted to put on record that I have this exact pressing , but a promo copy. Complete with “Atlantic Records” Promo sticker label on the front cover with the tracklisting, and a gold foil promo stamp on the back cover. Center label of vinyl doesn’t have a promo stamp, nor is it a variant color like most promos , just a regular Atlantic label.referencing Out Of The Cellar (LP, Album, AR) 80143-1
Perfect example of original pressings. It even kicks the original CD to the curb. I demo it regularly to people unsure of the superiority of LPs and haven’t had a single person unconvinced.
