Ratt – Invasion Of Your Privacy

After a good cleaning, this album is one of the best sounding of it's time and STILL holds up to modern record productions!

Surprised how bright and lean this record is compared to the previous album Out of the Cellar (which was pretty much perfection). Great dynamics but it can get a little too crunchy and strident at times. I just recently got the remaster, and it has a more balanced sound with more weight in the bass while still retaining the crunchiness and bite of the guitars. Nice to have the original of this on vinyl, in the 80’s I had the cassette tape. But going forward will probably stick with the remaster for this particular album.

This is a white/grey/black coloured vinyl, with each colour using a 1/3 of the record. When I first dropped the needle before the music starts, you could hear the noise floor of each colour, white was worst, grey in the middle, and black close to silent. Side 1 is pressed off center and I could see the needle go side to side causing a very very slight audible warble. Side 2 was fine. Quality issues aside, the remaster sounds great. I have an original Canadian pressing for comparison, and on the remaster there is more bass and weight to the overall sound, retaining the crunchy guitars, while the original is a bit strident, thinner and bright. Remaster is more compressed but not enough to bother me. I preferred the remaster for this particular album.

This might be my favorite album by them and this tour kicked ass. They were better than Motley Crue.

This is a very nice reissue. The sound is well balanced when compared to my ‘85 copy r9248333 which has a little too much in the highs. This one is not as hot. The pressing quality is great as well, just about zero surface noise without an ultrasonic clean. Nice addition to my collection.

Is the version with no mail order form attached to the j-card already on here? The one I have is the clear SR pressing with a small white line where the form would have been attached. I’m sure it’s an ‘86 or later press because there are no signs of torn perforations or a cut off part. I know they were made at least during ‘88-‘89, because my father had this copy, and his is believed to had been purchased after Reach for the Sky was released.

One of Ratt's "better sounding" recordings with excellent production value. This album does not have their more "known" tunes, although still an exceptional release for any Ratt fan.

PIcked up a really nice copy of this. Gave it an ultrasonic bath ... sounds terrific! Really good pressing. Nice quiet vinyl. Great mix and balance.

This was my first introduction to Ratt. Most of the songs are great, even though the lyrics are super cheesy, but what do you expect. Love the album as a whole.
