It's not often you come across a track that's based around a sound the chorus makes, but Freeform Five make it a reality with _Eeeeaaooww_. Bounty Killer comes in to give what might otherwise be a more straightforward modern disco track some dub flavor. Still, the "Single Edit" has plenty of platforms and strobelights for the purists. Interestingly, enough, the "VIP Version" of the track adds in some tribal drumming and some South Asian flourishes, with Bollywood-style strings and flutes. Has disco become the lingua franca? I'm afraid the answer might be yes.

The (non)problem with this 12" is that it is almost uncategorizable. The instrumental B-side was a sought after dance floor hit at the end of last year and turned up on a French compilation CD of electronica and dark disco with other selections of "exclusive and unreleased sparse digital grooves and leftfield mood music". Now released with the vocals of dancehall legend Bounty Killer, the track is taken that one step over the essential level. The title of the Freedom Five's album, 'Strangest Things' sums up what this 12" is all about (the vocal version is on the album). Perfect for those with an ear for quirky stuff. "Eeeeaaoow just a little bit more" again and again.
