The Charlatans – The Charlatans

I'm just racking my brain out which prog classic riff is cited in "Here Comes A Soul Saver", I'd bet it's somewhere in my collection but I've no idea yet. Can anybody help?

Holy hell this pressing sounds awesome. This isn’t even in my top three for the band, but my goodness does it sound great here. Super quiet pressing and very dynamic. Real nice separation and soundstage. Well worth the money.

Received a complete copy. No Gary Numan. Flat and quiet. No surface noise. A beautiful yellow marbled vinyl. Sleeve super glossy luxe quality and black paper inners. Sounds good. Not the most dynamic or surprising sonics. More about the twangy guitars n alt jam vibe I think. Overall a good pressing. Delivered without damage. Very satisfied.

Agree with speed808 that the 2021 repress (yellow marbled vinyl) sounds pretty congested. A disappointment.

The repress is really good. On a par with the original.

Sad that people are selling this original version at crazeeee prices.

Picked up a copy from Amazon for the one day shipping. Seam splits, jacket warped, both LP's warped & noisey. Going to try a replacement. What I did hear sounds like a bass heavy congested mess. Very lofi for the Charlatans. Popped on my original press and it's totally different. Just the right bass and an open mid-range. If my replacement doesn't at least match the original then this is truly a wasted effort and quite sad for such an amazing album and legendary band.

Update: Got a replacement today and I can at least say LP1 is much better. The difference is noticeable but it really doesn't say good things about MPO's quality control if SQ can vary this much. Yikes.

Still though I would say the original press sounds better and has a "fresher" sound than this reissue. It's slightly stale by comparison. I would also say the original CD bests them both.

This repress sounds pretty dang good. The CD had lyrics printed. I sure wish they would have done the same with at least an insert. That's some of the fun with vinyl is having the lyrics printed.

If there’s any silver lining to this pressing — it’s that “Love Is Like Clock Law” is the best song on Gary Numan’s ‘Warriors’ album… so take comfort in that.

I've heard that there are some copies going around with a totally different artist on one side, sounds like Gary Numan (TBC) Has anyone experienced this?
