Brad – Shame

This is a great pressing. Quiet, flat, punchy bass. I was lucky enough to see Brad live at the 930 Club some years ago. What a memorable night that was. I’m really happy that I picked this up!!! ❤️

Mine arrived flat and pristine and it sounds incredible. Been looking for a nice copy of this on vinyl for 25 years. This is definitely it. Absolutely loving this pressing.

As a 30th-anniversary rerelease, this does the one thing that I'd always wished for back in the '90s: it removes the buzzkill distorted spoken vocal that comes after the transcendent closing track, "We," on the cassette and CD versions. ("Do you think I'm a child? Treat me like one, b----!") That has always, always bugged me about this record that I love all over otherwise. This edits the whole mess away, leaving the listener with the abrupt guitar skronk hanging in the air at the end. No more scrambling for the pause button. Perfection.

About the press, Side 2 is a bit overlong and so the runout is really narrow. It does mean there's a little distortion of said "We" track, but it is not a deal-breaker. Otherwise, this is pancake flat and and stray crackle is gone after a little cleaning.

I am so glad to have this in my collection at last. And I dig the color.

Not sure what people are talking about with this one. Dead flat. Some pops that are taken care of with cleaning and anti static brush. But perfectly flat vinyl.

Sounds really good, classic underrated album from the 90 .

Sounds great, some static but a quick brush and it cleaned up. Packaging could be a bit more exciting, but happy to have this.

Awful pressing. The surface noise is up there with the worst I own and is louder than the music at points.

What a classic, the combination of Stone Gossard’s guitar playing and Shawn Smith’s voice is magic.

Mine arrived resembling a salad bowl, by FAR the most warped record I've ever seen/owned. Had to shell out more $$$ to get it professionally flattened, and is acceptable now. The sound quality is pretty good without being amazing (now that it's actually playable). The cover art is disappointing vs. the original, very low-budget.

Swirl is only visible when held up to light. Looks pretty much solid blue on the turntable. Sound wise a pretty decent reissue. Not experiencing the background noise others have, it was pretty clean straight out of the sleeve. 20th Century was good test of the mastering, sounds great to me. A full play through reminded me how incredible this album is, one of the most overlooked of the grunge era. 5/5 album, 4/5 for the press... good but not blowing me away.
