referencing The Human Thing (CD, Album) GP39A
The Flemish counterpart of the Grand Prix of Netherlands is called HuMo's Rock Rally. This talent show has the European club circuit all the necessary fine straps and Das Pop from Ghent is one of them. DAS Pop leave a refreshing airy sound that inspired similar to both the Britpop of the 1990s as the art rock of David Bowie and Roxy Music of the early 1970s. At the release of the first cd (I Love Das Pop, 2000) show that the band members also have to master the art of marketing well. The red-and-white stickers and t-shirts are a fixture in the streets, but also work the criticism in the hand, that the band too much relies on cheap gimmicks. On the second album The Human Thing turns out Das Pop is something of this to have attracted criticism. The music sounds a little less figured out or as the articulate themselves in their biography: ' Das Pop, now also with emotion! '. The band appeared on the debut album, still above all a vehicle for singer and eye-catcher Bent van Looy, but in the press release and the liner notes is now stressed that all band members equivalent contributions. The image to the outside is less clear but the music of Das Pop is good enough to still in a positive way to stand out.
