referencing Identity Parade (LP, Compilation) ALB 118
A bizarre compilation. Not because of the choices of songs, but because there’s so many different edits, mixes and versions that aren’t available anywhere else.
Arabesque (cassette version only): It’s a completely different recording, but infinitely superior to the version on 13th Floor Madness. It’s more similar to the demo, but recorded really well.
Me And My Desire: A completely different mix than the album version. It’s the same longer edit (the single version is shorter) but a far heavier and punchier mix.
Obsessed: It has a guitar part just after the bells in the intro but before everything else comes in that isn’t there on any other version I’ve heard.
Wild Sun: Is slightly longer than the 7” version, by about 20 seconds. I’ve not heard this edit anywhere else before.
Blaze of Noon: This is one of my favourite ever 999 tracks, and doesn’t appear on anything else. Which is a bit strange, would’ve done really well as a single I think. Killer track.
