- Edited 7 years ago'Vol 1' gets much attention, and a solid EP it is too- however, some true gems here on Vol 2, not to be missed. A1 'A Sea Apart' is a bit special. Deep & emotional, simple yet hypnotising bass- in fact one of the nicest out there- coupled with a synth lead jam which is perfect for the track. Really stunning. A2 'Dutchmaster' takes the pace slower with a break-led groove, really great early or mid set builder with jazzy cuts & a right old swing on it... The vox works brilliantly. Tons of vibes. B1 'Inner City Lullaby' kicks off with a conga led groove, a simple snare type sound with circulating reverb offshoots & the track uses dubwize sensibilities. Deep as the ocean & powerful enough to keep feet on the floor, it's my pick of the bunch... B2 'Yeah Kid!' smacks of Cari Lakebusch's previous techno outings, only with a guitar like bassline more akin to funk. Either way it works, & coupled with the warm Detroit like synths, makes for an interesting listen. With none of these tracks screaming 'anthem', its shelf life is forever. And all tracks are of a high pedigree, & highly playable... Winner.
