Spoon – They Want My Soul

mine sounds fine, but man am i tired of albums that are "new" being warpped, with the money you pay its like the worst feeling. Even when it sounds fine

Honestly this is a pretty awful pressing. Vinyl looks ok, but the sound quality is abysmal, among the worst in my collection, and sent me scrambling to make sure my alignment and tracking force were correct. Sounds very compressed and unfocused, right from the top, “The Rent I Pay” was almost unrecognizable. I would seek out a different pressing if you can.

I have the baby blue version. I ordered 2 copies. Both were really bad. Sound was flat. Grooves were not centered. The label was so bloated on one side that you could hardly play it. I've never seen that before. Poor quality control. The second copy was so curled that my needle danced. Apparently they only produce, but no longer quality control.

The album itself is stunning. The CD sounds superlative. The packaging is basic but feels premium. Lyric sheet included.

Just chiming in to say my copy sounds great. Had no pops. Is silent between songs. Sounds dynamic and better than digital. Exactly like the other copy I have which is the Newbury Purple.

Very happy to own this one on vinyl, finally. Mine playes flawless, no pops or ticks. Maybe no HQ but sounds fine on my Rega P6

Atrocious pressing. Aside from the scuffs that I can blame on shipping (?) this record sounds terrible. It’s such a rich album with great dynamics and this pressing is so noisy and flat. Horribly disappointing after the beautiful Merge albums.

Mine is cut way off center and has a ton of pops. Think this might be the first new record I ever return, it’s that bad. Hopefully just this one, but will wait to see if others report the same before repurchasing.

Just have given it a spin and think it sounds terrific. The vinyl color does not match the cover at all but it matches the blue sky on the inner sleeve instead. All in all a highly interesting release!!

Received a very scuffed/scratched copy from BrooklynVegan. They adamantly REFUSED to replace it and would only accept a full return or $10 store credit. Just a heads up, as I have to return mine now. I would be extremely hesitant supporting BrooklynVegan. Second time this has happened to me with them as well.
