I was 17 years old when I got this double album during a trip in Portugal with my parents. It had just been released and I found it in a little shop in Lisbon. I couldn't even pronounce the title correctly. But the music made an incredible impression and to this day, 27 years later, I still play it regularly. This is an incredible compilation that, together with The Orb's "Live '93" really helped shaping the musical taste I'd later develop. The vinyl version is great too.
good compilation.

Dj Morpheus' first instalment of FREEZONE is TRULY a merriment of sound & a homage to Ambient Music of that time & any time. The wondrously uplifting Avalon track 'New Frontier'. The truly heart rendering 'Save The Whale' by Solar Quest are only a few I can think of. But this really is an example of Ambient music in its prime years. You don't really get this kind of genius so much now. It's subtly mixed too so the tracks get full play.
The next instalment was also great, the others never really lived up to the first two. Horizontal Wonder!
