I listened to this LP recently for the first time in literally decades and it is a lot more accessible than I remember. Pomme Fritz and Alles Ist Schoen are pure bliss and up there with the best classic Orb tracks. Even We're Pastie..., comprising as it does only of vocal samples, has a certain charm to it. Of course, this could just be down to the electric shock therapy (I am feeling more relaxed than I have in weeks), in which case, its worth it.- Edited 5 months ago

Listening again on the eve of it's 30th birthday, it is "We're Pastie To Be Grill You" I have difficulty to swallow, taking the tapes of Guyana over the top, to me leaving it off would have made for a meaner leaner album!
Alles ist schön (all's swell) is maybe the stand out track, beautiful ambience.
In a news item in NME (January 22, 1994) the release date is said to be March 14, 1994. So the release was delayed with three months according to that.

A near miss in the masterpiece category, this outstanding underrated gem is both captivating and pioneering in the musical genre of Electronica. Hidden away on what's referred to as a mini LP resides 40+ minutes of blissful, gently mind-bending music to enjoy forever. This album is wonderfully homogeneous. Orb are masters at presenting an enjoyable story with the audience. We sit back and we listen and we visualize the plotted scenery and characters conjured by scientific and creative minds.
There's no better way to hear this than on vinyl. The mastering is superb. Fall deep into another world. These transmissions have an otherworldly sound and are so well put together in the jest blunt manner of expression honored only to Orb. Enjoy this one after hours in the darkest part of the night.
Would be nice if Universal UMC could reissue this double CD.- Wonder why Universal have been so quick to delete all these 2CD versions of The Orb albums?

Pomme Fritz is Alex taking the piss (in punk fashion) on the press and wishy washy fans, for The Orb to not be positioned and shelved as a "new age" artist commercially, nor to record redundant tracks with the same formula (which were beginning to sound dated amongst the arrival of progressive IDM).- Edited 6 years ago
