John Lennon – Imagine

I don't have anything to compare this to, but I think this is a nice sounding pressing, good warm soundstage on dead quiet vinyl. Imagine has never been a particularly audiophile-quality album, but this will do.

Comments on the sound quality? Any good since it’s digitally remastered or no improvement over previous ?

It's not listed above but I have an Irish pressing reissue on the Parlophone label (2 box EMI) not sure of its year.

Surprisingly good! My guess is that this release is digitally remastered because I've never heard a British-recorded Capitol LP sound as good as this.

Also, does anyone have a spare inner and poster? My copy doesn't have them.

These porky pecko UK originals are absolutely smoking in comparison to the US pressings I have and heard. It’s alive, 3 dimensional with great extension.

What can be said in general? This is my first Bulgarian record ever, and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, I didn't get it in the best quality, but even so I really liked the sound. It feels like the sound is not very voluminous, but in general for the 1990 edition it is quite good. Manufactured under license, which MOST LIKELY means that the record was made from some of the original pressings. What I didn't like was the packaging. Maybe time has beaten it a little, but the cardboard envelope is absolutely without any protective coating. Ordinary rough cardboard. But I repeat, for such a price from a flea market - I don't know if there is anything better.

Что можно сказать в целом? Это моя первая Болгарская пластинка, и я был приятно удивлен. Да, она досталась мне не в самом лучшем качестве, но даже так мне очень понравился звук. По ощущениям звук не очень объемный, но в целом для издания 1990 года вполне себе. Изготовлено по лицензии, что СКОРЕЕ ВСЕГО значит что пластинка печаталась с какого-то из оригинальных изданий. Что не понравилось, это упаковка. Может время немного побило ее, но картонный конверт абсолютно без какого-то защитного покрытия. Обычный шершавый картон. Но повторюсь, за такую цену с барахолки - не знаю есть ли что то лучше.

Can anyone help. I have 2 albums. Both appear to fit this first release. One has a red lettered P on the record label on side 1. The other doesn't have this. One cover has slightly bigger writing on the spine. Could anyone help identify which is the first pressing and what the"P" stands for.

Compared to a 1st UK Porky, they both sound very similar. The main advantages of this pressing are it's presentation and it's more natural mastering. As fab_1 said, the vinyl is incredibly quiet, even though my 1st pressing has immaculate surfaces the vinyl is just loud and distracting. Peckhams mastering on the 1st pressing is very punchy and is cut loud, causing some sibilance in areas and making igd worse. I bet on a high-end system this could helped be negated though. This pressing has frankly perfect bass, more than the 1st pressing but it's not bloated. I'd definitely recommend this reissue if you're looking for the best pressing of this album, this is certainly hard to beat.

This press sound very good, i have a 1971 japan and this german press sound much clear and punchy.

I bought this new when MFSL reissued it. I haven’t listened to it in several years and forgot how good it sounds. It is definitely my favorite pressing of this classic album. The vinyl is quiet and the mastering is perfect. If you love this album, this is the pressing to get. Beats the original and the various vinyl reissues I’ve bought over the years.
