A Fatboy Slim classic. Three very different tracks. First the hit: bassline and chorus are sampled from Edwin Starr's Everybody Needs Love. B1 is a rather cool triphop meditation. B2 is a straight 4/4 house stomper with extrem use of filters. All tracks spiced with more or less acid.

Whilst "Everybody Needs A 303" was already a good big beat remix of Edwin Starr's 1977 "Everybody Needs Love", the Fatboy's "Everybody Loves A Carnival" version took things to the next level. With uptempo, Latin-carnival percussion, funky bass, acid house tweekery, and euphoric vocal, this combination of disparate elements into a coherent whole is big beat at its very best.

For those interested...

The bassline from "Everybody Needs A 303" is sampled from Blo's track ‎"Get That Groove In", taken from album "Bulky Backside - Blo Is Back" (1979).

Seminal track from our Norman. On the A, we have the cheerfully lolloping "Everybody Needs a 303". Typically repetitive breakbeat with Josh Wink-style tweets and "check this out" sample. Why then is it so addictive?

I'll say one thing about the B side: two tracks that can be played at 33 or 45 RPM. 45 is marginally better...just awesome, distinctive, driving drum 'n' bass.
