I really tried to like this album. I listened to this maybe 4 or 5 times. I couldn't get past the overused portamento sine wave drenching every single track like butter on a Twinky. The concept is cool, and the sound fits the concept. But that's about it. Musically, this album nauseated me, and now I hate Shonky and any production that sounds remotely like Shonky. Hell, I think I hate sine waves now. There's no contrast in sounds and the songs are basically remixes of each other. Give me some hard edges, something to grab on to, some element of groove, not just a sine wave arpeggiated in a hundred different ways. I can't eat just a stick of butter.
