Mike Bloomfield / Al Kooper / Steve Stills* – Super Session

This was a record store recommend. I did not like the placement of the horns but found the album quite enjoyable. We did not get many releases like this one.

55 years later, the Stills side holds up better. You get a pre-req Dylan cover, the breakbeat and wah-wah guitar of 'Season Of The Witch', the phased garage rock version of 'You Don't Love Me' that was clipped by the Allman Bros. a few years later, and the 'Taxi Driver' soundtrack drama of 'Harvey's Tune'.

Been waiting for a while to pull the trigger on this one. Wow. What a solid pressing! The clarity and depth on a silent pressing is just fantastic. Great tunes at their best. Treat yourself

Picked this up cheap NM and what a great album! It sounds absolutely fantastic as well.

Bloomfield and company shreds on the side one demonstrating why he was the still the pioneering dylanesque Chicago blues king of 66 and 67. Unfortunately Bloomfield can't make the second half of the session... Issues... Did not make the all important connection... In steps Stephen Stills to save the day and lays down the epic version of Season of the Witch! Kooper lays down some of best organ of his career! Agreed on the criticism of the horn section glued on later.

Some great blues jamming coming off as a late-night jam session w/ plenty of fresh ideas & cohesive moments. Pity the great rhythm section is low in the mix.

Fantastic reissue, beautiful pressing, clean and clear with fantastic bass! One of my "go to" albums, very often played!

My favorite album of all times. Great in every way. Guitar playing keyboards and group amendment. All great musicians of the 60-70s are present here
