My copy has this exact runout, but has the other label with the buildings on it.
Finding one was really difficult back in 1982. Glossy card sleeve / paper label combinations of Tears are not enough and Poison arrow were easier to find in the shops. Three of my friends also collected ABC and only one of us found it at the time.
So did the 1990 mix really come out in 1982?....
Just goes to show that America can screw up a good song with a bad remix.

I got my copy of this promo remix by joining the ABC Fan Club (the only reason I joined, in fact!)...
I love every version of this ABC masterpiece. Pop perfection. Period
referencing The Look Of Love (Part One) (7", 45 RPM, Single, Styrene, Stereo, Bestway Pressing) 76168
I have this very same pressing with the number 19 for the plant number on it. Both sides of my copy are not the songs by ABC at all. Instead, there are acoustic led country songs by a female lead singer. I even tried the Shazam app on both sides multiple times to no avail. Does anyone have any information, or is mine the lone mispressing?
In 1982 I really liked this version. Today, 30 years later, I find it annoying only. Where the oroginal is elegant and stylish, this is remixed for dancing purposes. Is that art? Maybe. Do I need it? No!

The "USA Remix - Dub Version" set, when first released 1982, completely new standards in terms of remixing. It was one of the first records (if not THE first) to use the vocals as a playing toy for sampling. The result is a new version which still bears the basic melodies but filled up with totally new vocal arrangements. Sometimes, when listening to this, I'm still wondering what Mr. Fry really thought about this...:)
