Bolt Thrower – Mercenary

Fantastic album as always ! Guitar sound is massive similar to Incubus album Beyond the unknown.
It is a pity that Martin Van Drunen never released with them any random album, only live tours.. Vocal are great here, no doubt, but Drunen is Drunen.

The PERFECT Bolt Thrower album. Stripped down songs to the minimum, NO unnecessary bullshit in the songs, BUT masterfully crafted by the principle of "just enough", while keeping ONLY The Best content on it & thus crafting it into a 100% PERFECT album from start to finish. COS of this it's immediately memorable & EVERY second on it is a mindblowing experience of carefully selected PERFECT material (some of THE BEST Bolt Thrower material written here) - EVERYTHING else was Laid to Waste. Only true Masters can do this. It's EASY to make an album and cram it with lots of stuff until there's NO MORE room for nothing. BUT it's much harder to make a minimalist album that's "IT"! That's TOTALLY "IT"!!! And Mercenary is SUCH AN ALBUM! EVERYTHING on it is P.E.R.F.E.C.T. The ONLY thing missing: Andy Whale. With HIM on board Mercenary could've been perhaps THE No.1 Bolt Thrower album (well, at least levelled with Realm of Chaos). But EVEN without Him, it's STILL PERFECT. Yes, IT'S THAT GOOD! To The Last!

I'm not usually extremely picky about the sound quality of a reissue, but dammit there are some serious issues here. Anyone else disappointed ?
The first thing I noticed is the inconsistent volume across the tracks. The first one, "Zeroed", sounds noticeably louder than the others on the A-side, as if there's a drop in sound after the first track. And on the B-side, the volume loss is even more significant !
Beyond that, the whole thing just feels cheap to me. I've compared it to CD version again and again, and the difference is pretty shocking.
There's like a lack of bass and power, which is quite blatant for a band like Bolt Thrower.
Does anyone know if all LP releases of “Mercenary” have these same issues ?

Limited to 500 and 756 people have it? Strange

I have a mid-2010s press - clear vinyl and poster. Can't find the pressing - anyone know?

Mine came with Mercenary poster. Strange you should get HVP poster, but I guess they were made at roughly the same time, by the same people and mixups happens.

Mine came with the Honour-Valour-Pride Poster...!?!?! Anyone else's too?
