I've just read scoundrel's review and would like to add that this album has been slept on (which is possibly appropraite given its relaxed tempo!). "Talk when in space" begins with some strange atmospheric noises and gentle symbols before funky, almost wandering, bass line and some emotive keys come in. The beat (a really slow but hard hitting electro style groove) doesn't kick in until well into the track and its impact is greatly increased by this delay. Patient listeners will be rewarded. As Bueller said, 'Life move's pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in while you could miss it.' Slow it down, people. referencing Keep It Slow (CD, Album) 541416 501887
Hmm, I'm not even sure you can call it "disco" when there's almost nary a beat to be found on the opening track, "Born On The Low Wind," which has a bleating mellowness to it. Low Motion Disco's debut KEEP IT SLOW stays true to its title, rarely creeping above midtempo. "Things Are Gonna Get Easier" has a sunshiny 70s groove to it, while "Love Knows Low" seems to drift on its own good feelings. The sharp guitar on "Frantic Low Moment" adds a good bit a movement, but it's "Love Love Love" that finally gets the ball rolling, though in a slow way. A country twang rings through "The Low Murderer Is Out At Night," like a midnight horseride. There's something silly about the Italian list of ingredients in "Low Italian Déssert (Try It Out)" but still manages to eke out a smile. "People Come in Slowly" brings back the beat, but the slowness everywhere else wins out. Quite the nifty feat, making slow seem exciting!
