I know that Spizer actually identifies Jacksonville pressings with a letter "C" at the end of their number, but I like to use "J" for obvious reasons, and then for all the contract pressings, I use the first letter of the plant, i.e.; "D" for Decca, "C" for Columbia, "R" for RCA, and "?" for the mystery pressing plant described in the Spizer book. Decca has a 1" diameter pressing ring, Columbia's vinyl has a 2-11/16" diameter ring, and RCA has a 2-3/4" pressing ring.
That makes 17 variations of the first 4 pressings ('64-'67), not taking into consideration Promo, Contract, and Record-Club pressings. There are also a small handful of albums found with a couple of cool stickers; Press Information Sticker and The Beatles Are Coming Stickers

- Thoughtfully-constructed product in beautiful packaging. Really fun listen and cut hot! Please cut everything hot!
I find myself listening to the ‘24 ‘64 mono LPs as much as the ‘14 mono LPs - Buyed it recently and, just as i opened it, it was warped. Apart from the packaging and sound, that's the only issue.
- Edited one month ago-Dead quiet vinyl, with no pops, cracks or noise inbetween tracks.
-Record came in a poly-lined inner sleeve and I did not even have to clean it before playing it.
-Great mastering and sound quality - even if it’s not UK Beatles, it’s a great “alternative” sound and it was carefully mastered using a AAA process.
-In the end, this does not feel like a cash grab at all. For its price and quality, it’s more than a welcome addition in your collection - especially if you were always curious about how the Capitol mixes sounded, or if you are looking for “cheap”early Beatles on Mono (and would like dead-quiet, new records) without breaking the bank for the Mono UK pressings released last decade.
**Beware this is a hot pressing, so if you have a misaligned cartridge it might jump around/skip. But it played wonderfully on my AT VM95ML, so before blaming the pressing quality make sure yout setup is correctly configured** referencing Meet The Beatles! My copy from JPC is missing the replica advertising inner? Anyone else have this happen?referencing Meet The Beatles! (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Mono, Opaque Blue) 0602468066224
The pressing is great. Extremely quiet. The blue is nice - mine looks solid until I hold it up to the light and then I see the marbled look. Pretty! Anyway, I am a firm fan of the UK albums since high school, but I grew up with the US versions and was curious to see what the raves were about. I can definitely agree that Side One is a fantastic introduction to the band. I'm not sure Hold Me Tight and Little Child would be at the top of my list if my goal was to create an irresistible 12-track collection from the singles and albums that were available to Capitol at that time, but I am impressed that they were able to unify the sound of tracks that were recorded over a year apart. By contrast, Please Please Me and With The Beatles definitely sound distinctly different. I think Capitol got there by homogenizing the sound a bit and a lot of details get lost in the process. I get what they were trying to do and it feels like the 2024 mastering team did a great job with the generally inferior masters they were given. It's a fun listen and I'm sure people who are attached to the US versions will be very happy with the results. I'm sure I'll listen to at least the first side again for its great sequencing.referencing Meet The Beatles! (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Mono, Opaque Blue) 0602468066224
Phenomenal reissue for a bargain. Love the grittier sound of these Capitol monos. My Target blue vinyl is perfectly flat, dead silent and sounds great. Easy 5/5- Compares very favorably to a '64 LA mono pressing, in fact has a bit more of everything. Extremely quiet vinyl straight from the factory sleeve.
- Have to disagree with the reviews on here, I’m sure this sounds as good as it can but this sounds terrible. After listening to this it made me happy that I didn’t invest in the box set. I’m a huge Beatles fan and again I have no doubt this sounds better than the US originals but wow, completely disappointed. I’ll stick to the UK mixes.

wow, these new capitol mono releases sound great especially when compared to the original capitol releases. These have the bass and high frequencies restored and are super quiet. My only complaint on the album "Meet the Beatles" is that side 2 contains 4 of the worst songs the Beatles ever recorded: Little Child, Hold Me Tight, I Wanna Be Your Man and Not a Second Time. And Don't Bother Me isn't much better.
