Rush – Moving Pictures

Doesn’t get Much better than this…… it will really pull you in! All albums should sound this good

Should copy and paste my reviews for these wally colored vinyls compared to the OG counterparts.
This sounds decent... but the OG pressing has more presence, depth, wider soundstage and the mix has more punch to it.
Again, ok for the occasional listen to save wear and tear on original ( my fav Rush record), especially if listening at a lower volume... but if I want to turn it up and rattle the windows and immerse myself in the record, the OG pressing is the way to go.
Not noisy and is pretty quiet.

This is the first album I ever bought as a kid around 1982 when I was 12 years old. After getting back into vinyl recently, I checked out my old copy after digging it out of the basement storage and the record was totally scratched up and trashed haha, stupid kid!. I threw out the record and kept the cover to display in my bar but forgot to check the runouts. Did not realize this was an RL cut. I did recently buy the red Walmart reissue version which sounded great but I still wanted the original. Finally found this one in excellent shape with the RL in the runout for a good price that I think is the same as my original and boy oh boy does it ever sound so good. So lovely and dynamic. The reissue wasn’t that far off but a little more compressed. So glad to have this back! The cover jacket was a little worse off than my original cover I kept on display so I switched them and now I feel like I have my original album back.

Top notch pressing. Quiet vinyl, wide soundstage, and excellent remastering by Sean Magee. Clear highs, punchy lows, and great separation — it really brings Moving Pictures to life. The Czech pressing is flawless. Highly recommended for any Rush fan or audiophile.

I can't speak for anyone else but my copy of this (from Sound of Vinyl in late 2023) continues to absolutely floor me. Fantastic press.

Watch out buyers! Tons of scammers/amateurs sellers are listing the cheap 180gr reissue here instead of the 200gr pressing, pretty much all of the Rush 200gr albums have many sellers listing the 180gr instead, discogs should intervene somehow, don't be fooled...

Like everyone else, I finally bought this (on sale at Amazon) for the live material which is as good as advertised.

In general, like Permanent Waves, this is the way to re-release legacy albums; provide a great live showcase or unreleased material. Well done.

Vinyl for the live stuff sounds great. My overall pressing was excellent including the core album which shows no signs of warping.

It was released now on 2/7/2025 in the Netherlands..Does anyone know anything about this 2015 reissue? They seem to be identical, which makes me think there's no meaningful reason to have a separate release page.
