Thurston Moore – The Best Day

Mine has tons of crackle (static?) on side B wah wah

My copy is pretty warped. Still plays fine, though, no jumps or skips or anything.

As the album is out of print and slowly becoming less available, I decided to snatch a copy.
I expected the worst given the previous reviews here.. but.. surprise... no surface damage, no pops, clicks, no static - nothing. The sound is amazing. Dense, present and loud. Maybe I got a copy of another pressing run...
I can only recommend this pressing.

lot of surface damage and static noise from the factory, but strangely enough, the sound is decent. anti-static sleeves make things much better. the labels are perfectly centered. excellent mastering and the music is wonderful.

lots of pops, clicks, especially on sides A and B. not pretty comfortable with that.

Great band. I had the pleasure of seeing them live. Very tight sound and great musical chemistry This album is beautiful and sounds great on vinyl. No faults on my copy.

Great was the noiserockband Sonic Youth in 2011 because of grief when personal problems with it for the time being stopped. But at the guitar in 30 years of violence, with which the Quartet had built up an almost unassailable reputation, came happy to no end. The band members started immediately to new convincing (solo) projects, such as Body/Head and Chelsea Light Moving. Comparisons to Sonic Youth, however, were inevitable, because the new music quite in line with the influential band lay. Also singer/guitarist Thurston Moore to escape on The Best Day, his first solo album since the ending of Sonic Youth and fourth in total. The characteristic barbed wire solos and strange chords are present in full glory again. The same is true of drummer Steve Shelley that on a number of tracks sit down and that half of his old band is restored again. The Best Day on the other hand, contains little noise and even supports to a large extent on the acoustic style of Moore's previous solo album Demolished Thoughts (2011). This is The Best Day to be very recognizable, but luckily no uninspired repetitive exercise.
