Jimi Hendrix – Jimi Plays Monterey (Original Motion Picture Sound Track)

Fantastic pressing, really like the essay by Mitchel which helps to get into the ambiance of the show. Really love also the sound, for a live of this period it sound really great, bass and drums are present and well recorded as the guitar of Jimi. It is mono for those who wonder, so it is really punchy. The pressing is flat, without default.

Great record, great performance ..... must be one of the worst album covers of all time, or at least one of the worst for a good album.

Sounds really really good, about as good as this recording is going to get. Vinyl is really thick and heavy and sturdy feeling. My only neg is that the jacket feels a little big for the record, but that's not really that big a deal.

This mastering is done very well. To have been at this first ever US concert must have been amazing. Monterey is a beautiful place. Flat pressing, zero noise. Another excellent Hendrix Legacy pressing. The record fits pretty loose in the record sleeve. The paper insert indicates something mentioning disc1 and disc2 and it is actually a single disc release. So something happened because the sleeve is meant for two discs.

48 units?!? WTF kind of nonsense is that? What a joke! 😑

I adore this album. It's so cool to hear Jimi move back away from the mic to change guitars or do whatever. Then come back and tear it up for another song. Missing verses and saying "don't worry about it" mid song. Good stuff, must have.

I wouldn't expect such an alive sound from a re-remastered version of this album.
It's great. You feel like a part of this performance.

my CD has a different Matrix / Runout: Pilz ITM 960008 472, seems to be a legit edition...

After wild thing shlt got torched...or so they say. Too bad there weren't camera or TV back then.
