Show All 19 Reviews- I can't do a comparison as I've got nothing to compare this with but it's dynamic enough for me. I'm using Klipsch speakers powered by a decent tube amp. It sounds spacious and just lovely. At £15 I'm not complaining at all ! John and McCoy play beautifully on this one. I'd file this with Ballads, just great music and playing throughout.
- Excellent. Src pressing deep blacks. Great sounding very warm cover is glossy. The whole package is a repro copy of the original down to the labels.
- Have this but is has an src stamp in the dead of wax. Excellent sound dark blacks. Well pressed. Excellent.
- Nice album and presentation by ORG. Quality gatefold jacket, unfortunately no pictures inside.
I think the weak point here was the record engineering. Clearly not tracked up to the standard of some other jazz titles that get the 45rpm treatment.
But I think the mastering is solid based on what the original tapes sounded like.
I was really impressed with the pressing here from Gotta Groove.I don’t have many records from that plant, but this one is great. Records are flat, and very quiet. Much better than some recent ‘audiophile’ releases pressed at other more well known plants.
Overall it’s a great album to have in the collection. However it’s not one you would reach for to really show what a system can do. - The mono is they better option here. This is not great, mostly hard panning to the left and right channel, no center image, excessive tape noise. Not worth the money. On a side not “Gotta Groove” (the pressing plant) has done one hell of a job. Gorgeous, flat, quiet records.
- Just wonderful! One of my new favorite JC albums! beautiful! There have been mixed reviews about albums pressed by Gotta Groove Records. Well, this one is clean, flat and stellar! This remaster has a really nice open sound with lot's of separation, an amazing stage and lot's of detail! Grab it now!
- Listening to this production on MONO vinyl is basically DIFFERENT, with all its wonderful tones and space, so much space because it is not just one speaker, but a whole space where the instruments intertwine internally. I RECOMMEND such a listening session because it is not the same as pressing the MONO button. A record without noise, but there are crackles,
sounds quieter than the STEREO edition, but that's not a problem, you can always turn up the VOLUME. The problem is the coarse paper envelope in which they pack the vinyl and there is only one way to get it out without scratching (tearing it apart).
