Reissues since 1991 feature a remixed version of the title track, renamed "Revolution, Revolutions", following a lawsuit from Turkish ney flautist Kudsi Erguner. According to most reports on the situation, the original 1988 version of the song sampled a performance by Erguner that ethnologist Xavier Bellinger gave to Jarre without Erguner's permission. However, in a 2018 interview with The Domino Elf, Jarre himself claimed that Erguner was hired by Jarre as a session musician and sued in a bid to obtain a writing credit and additional royalties. Regardless, the lawsuit resulted in Jarre replacing Erguner's ney solo with strings, further altering the drums and orchestra and using a different chant.

- Title track has the edited out intro, hence the title "Revolution, Revolutions".
"The title track contains reworked samples of an unpublished composition by Turk Kudsi Erguner, which Jarre had acquired from ethnologist Xavier Bellenger. Erguner took his case to court and won a modest indemnity.[7] Jarre removed the flute part—the Ney—from new releases of the record and from live performances, the track was later retitled as "Revolution, Revolutions". - Edited 6 months agoHello folks ! Could anyone help me please:
I have bought this Revolutions release from discogs from a seller from greece, but i have doubts that it is an official release.
My CD has a seal/sticker on the outer edge with sony music and greek signs on it. The CD has the sony music stamp on the jewelcase.
Also it has the extra advert sheet with the oxygene 9-13 and the remaster on it.
The numbers on the inner ring are identical showned here (ifpi in the silver). But the CD lacks the stamp on the mold with the additional IFPI number on.
Also i can`t find a unofficial release here on discogs that would fit to mine CD.
So i don`t know :-(
Maybe its a variant ???
I know that every CD without the two Ifpi stamps (on silver and mold) are not official, with exception of the older CDs which did`t have that, too.
Does someone here could confirm that there is a official Epic Version without that stamp in the mold ?
Otherwise the CD with all of its graphics and so looks exactly like the Epic version shown above !
Best wishes and thanks for your help ! - Edited one year agoI wonder if it would be a huge engineering challenge to crop the cover photo correctly in this CD.

A return to form after the tepid Rendez-Vous with other artists to enhance the pallette. For me, his last relevant album.referencing Revolutions (LP, Album) 837 421-1
Such an underrated album. Jarre pushed his music style to new direction, touching cultural fabric in society, very refreshing as well high audio standard. To me this is his 3rd best album, only after Oxygene and Equinoxe. By the way my French copy side two sounds more open than 1988 Europe version (pressed in West Germany).referencing Revolutions (LP, Album, Stereo) 837 098-1

In my view this is Jean-Michel Jarre's last really exceptional album. Sound quality is fantastic as with the other Jean-Michel Jarre pressings from the 80s ( Zoolook, Magnetic Fields, etc. ). This is an exceptional pressing quality-wise. It has a very analogue airy sound with an incredible amount of detail. One of my favorite albums. If anybody wants to know what a Roland D-50 sounds at its best this it the album to go for. Nice different orchestral vibe compared to JMJs other albums.
