Digweed never played this one, proper dark thumping vortex from 1989! first heard in 1992 from dj Ahmed mehmedov in almaty squat party. system system system woosh!- This song...deep, dark late '80s at its best. Thank you, Andy Kastanas for playing this at Park Elevator in Charlotte, NC back in the day.

This is the best of several excellent mixes of this early Techno-Classix form German Trance-Producer Oliver Lieb. Magic intro which has opened many clubnights around the early 90's. Must-have record.referencing System (The Remixes) (12", 45 RPM) ZYX 6216R-12
Oh my goodness - what a epic tune. As the normal version was played by DJ Hell on Mayday a couple of years before, the track went very hip to put it back into the dj's case. The People pay now more attention to this Track as before, very funny. But may no one cares to this brillant remixes. This A side track was miles ahead of the time when such arrangements went into standard. It was powerfull EBM/Industrial Elements attend by "fly away" chor strings. Completely different, exept some basics, from the original. I remember i was pretty surprised as i buyed the Record about this genius remix.
Another to name milestone in the early Frankfurt/German Techno Music.- Edited 18 years agoA simple song- there's not really too much to it when you think about it, so why do I love it so much? The versions are quite similar- the main difference is that the beginning and the end of the songs are reversed. A perfect cross between techno and industrial, which you really don't find too often. I want more tunes like this one.

System was produced by Torsten Fenslau, who was a Famous DJ at Dorian Gray Club at that time in Frankfurt/Main. In 1989, when this record was released, he created a Dance Project called "Culture Beat". The Rest is, as they say, History. Torsten Fenslau died after the Release of Culture Beat Hit "Got to get it" in a Car Crash. His "early" works include some great Electronic Trax, like the Ones under the Project Name "Out of the Ordinary". In 1994 there was a cool 2-CD-Release called "The Dream - The Best of Torsten Fenslau". ZYX records is located in Germany. The Record Firm is still active. They have the rights to mostly every important Italo Dance Track (for the German Market) of the 80s and took over soome licences from the dead BCM Label. At the End of the 80s they released a lot of good Electronic Stuff that helped launch of the Breakthrough of Techno. If you like this one check out the 1991 Release "Tyrell Corp.-Running (My favourite is the Original-Remix-Version)", also produced by Torsten Fenslau. - Edited 19 years agoV. 3.0. has a great intro, but for me loses its momentum after a few minutes and never regains it. V. 4.0. (Laser Edit) is more of an electro take on the track, and is generally a little better.
- Dark and gloomy Techno\New-Beat tune, with mysterious atmosphere, But the most surprising part is in it's intro...
- Absolute classic. German techno from the very early 90s at its very finest. Only Abfhart's "Alone" is in the same class in terms of Geramn tunes of that era. "System" is a deep acidic tune. Is it techno or house? It clocks in at 12/123 BPM so you decide! I reckon its probably techno but is clearly one of a dying breed of techno music at a house speed. They just don't make them like that any more.
If you are going to buy German then buy either this , or Abfhart's "Alone" - if you are disappointed with either then your taste belongs where the sun don't shine.
