Recorded at Schloss Nörvenich on July 25th,1969, Monster Movie was originally released on Music Factory (20), in a private edition of 500 copies. Subsequent German releases on Liberty/UA GmbH used the original Music Factory masters, and retained their SRS 001 matrix inscriptions through at least 1975.
The Liberty/UA German pressings follow a linear chronology, beginning in August 1969:

Monster Movie switches title & credit to two lines
Monster Movie introduces 'United Artists' rim text
Monster Movie introduces 'Druckhaus Maack' printer credit

Many early Liberty/UA pressings carry an 'Electric Rock' sticker, in one of at least two designs. These correspond with a promotional campaign around Liberty/UA's Electric Rock (Idee 2000) compilation, issued in 1970. They are not however a reliable indicator of pressing date, as they appear on the earliest first pressings documented here, and may have been in use as late as 1973.

I also have this reissue. Sounds pretty good on my set up although no audiophile. The thing is I cant compare to the original.

This record is a good one, I really enjoy the experimentation and some of the tones here - Father Cannot Yell is one of the best songs I've heard recently, that tone is immense.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't give it a 5 stars because I think the harmonica (?) on track 3 is annoying and the closing track goes on a bit long after a while, but overall an 8/10 for a debut album ain't bad.
I recommend.

I am a huge Can fan since this record crossed my path. The, how to say, disharmonious super-harmonious arrangeents are brilliant. So is sound quality of this reprint.
If it is true that the singer went psychotic and his shrink told him to leave this music for good, it matches the spirit.
To be listened to with leasure and a flexible mind.

I suppose this style is 'Psychedelic Rock/Experimental', though I think it could fairly be described as proto-punk. In any case, '5-stars', this LP is innovative for 1969, edgy, creative and excellent.

I just picked this up -- matrix/runout is the same, but it no longer comes with a download code, and the sticker on the front omits "Includes digital download." Does this warrant a new entry or can a note be added about some versions no longer including download code and card?
