Nice to see the comments below because they all absolutely nail some aspect of what a genius record this is.there will never be anything that can top LSD,EVER.
It is a consumate work of genius but presented in the most understated way.for me,it absolutely captured a moment in time in the same way as,for example, age of love did.
I can still put this on the turntable after 30 years and it stays there for the whole night.referencing Alpha Centauri / LSD (12", 45 RPM) BFLT 14
I'm not really a big expert with Goa or Psy (I dip my toes in the water).
But I still remember being a teenager, around 1996, looking around the reduced-to-clear CD wall in my local Virgin Megastore.
Flicking through all the shite, I stumbled across Twisted. What caught my attention was the name of the band, Hallucinogen. I was (and still am) a big fan of Altern 8 and in my naivety I thought this was related (Altern 8's big track Frequency was sub-titled "Hallucin-8 Mix").
Yeah, I was a pretty naive teenager.
Anyway, I bought Twisted for around £2.99. Took it home. This was nothing like Altern 8.
The one track which stood out was, of course, LSD. I was just getting into proper trance around the same time (thanks to compilations like Reactivate), and LSD simply blew me away.
Tough, aggressive & driving but also blissfully beautiful with such euphoric emotion.
As I said, I'm no expert in this style of Trance. But my word Hallucinogen is a great place to dip your toes into.referencing Alpha Centauri / LSD (12", 45 RPM) BFLT 14
I have never before or since come across any medium or piece of visual or musical art that can recreate the hysteria, wonder or soul searching that is lsd than this record.the samples are truly perfect, the chord changes are spine tingling and the atmosphere is 100% lsd.listen and surrender.undoubtedly the greatest goa trance tune of all time and certainly in the top ten trance tunes of all time also.referencing Alpha Centauri / LSD (12", 45 RPM) BFLT 14
Tracks don't come more classic than LSD! The vocals samples are taken from the BBC documentary "LSD: The Beyond Within", the quote at the start is from Ken Kesey being interviewed.referencing Alpha Centauri / LSD (12", 45 RPM) BFLT 14
this vinil is a masterpiece in the electronic music world, posford, the father of goa bring to us his master class record: LSD, (by the way my favorite tune of goa of all times) the sample is an amazing introduction to a world of space sounds, incredible melodies and storming bases and a lot of effects for flight when you hear it,
alpha centaury is the other diamond in this L.P a mindblowing ride in the pure goa sound,
I recommended this l,p for all the fans of goa, and for all the people which want to learn and hear the real music!- Edited 17 years ago

Some vinyls' comes from another universe, this is one of them. Way ahead of it's time Simon Posford produced a rave anthem. For me "LSD" is the greatest song in it's genre, with haunting lyrics and melody. "What is it about it that scares people so deeply? - They are afraid that there is more to reality than they have ever confronted."
Not easy to stand up against the b-side, but track A is also a masterpiece. Put a blotter in your mouth while listening to this song, and i guarantee you'll end up on alpha centauri in some hours!
One of those vinyl's you can't live without. Perfect for acid/shrooms trips. - Edited 20 years ago

I have had few experiences as powerful as the first time I heard this track at sunrise on a remote beach with 200 crazed party people. Nearly 10 years later, this track sends sends chills through my body. When the bassline hits in the second half, it brings tears to my eyes still. Probably the best Goa/Psy-trance track ever made, because so few understand how really difficult it is to make an authentically positive and uplifting track without being cheesy. It's too easy to make something dark and heavy.
