Does anyone else have a copy of this that has slight distortions on their copy?

I just realized today that this box set has the signatures of the band members when I added it to my collection. Although this item shows in the notes that "Inside cover of gatefold includes signatures of all band members", the signatures for my set is on the back-side of album, on either side of the track listings. I should investigate on how to upload photographs. Anyway, a great sounding album.

The Decemberist have in 2011 good luck with their fourth album, The King Is Dead. The group around songwriter Colin Meloy carries that year even the Billboard list. Quite an achievement for the indiefolkband from Portland. However, Meloy it after a while. He concentrates on writing books and makes time for his family. Break the rut does the American and a fresh inspiration for What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World that exactly four years after The King Is Dead appears. Meloy sings a lot about family life and speaks directly to his fans. That should not think that he always remains the same. It is typical that Meloy one of his songs has called Anti-Summer song; literally the opposite of his old number Summer song (2006). And indeed, The Decemberists sound much more pop than before. The usual carry folkinvloeden only in the second half of the plate the overtone. The Decemberists respond to success through new paths. Very creative!

So went to see these guys in Buffalo NY. great show, I went to get some merchandise afterwards and saw this boxed set advertised as being 80 bucks and autographed by the band. Fair price I thought, and got an accompanying t shirt too.
I get the box home and open it up it to see a nicely packaged set. But it was totally missing the autographs..
I was duped..... I feel duped.
OK so the album, it's excellent as usual Decemberist fare. A bit heavier than usual, but still full of superb songwriting and lyrical wit..

Probably best if you get the album as is and forget the boxed set though...

Does the Newbury edition really have a download with it? I've got a copy recently and there was no sign of any digital download card...
