- Sounds absolutely fantastic! Quiet with really clear sound. I wish it had a little more on the lower end, but love giving it a spin. You will not be upset with this in your collection

Pretty mediocre effort from A&B, lack of trance notwithstanding, this is a generic electronic-pop effort, punctuated with a few good tracks (We Are All We Need, Sticky Fingers). Second half of the album is a snorefest. Group Therapy is a far stronger example of emotion-driven pop-trance with some modicum of dignity.- Edited 2 years agoPeople said, Common Ground has bad sound quality. We Are All We Need is not the case, vinyls is very quiet with great sound. Great pressing
If you buy this, you will not be disappointed! :-) - Edited 11 months agoUnbeliveable. This group used to be so admirable, tight-sounding, powerful, uplifting and pounding trance producer. Now it's gone down the drain. Too soft, no hihats, unemotional and yawn-generatingly boring. Sorry, but this is really, really, really bad and miserable album.
- Apparently there is an error in printing, there’s a typographical error on the record sleeve according to Anjuna Music Store. They will send out new covers to replace the old ones. Has anyone spottend the typo?
Anyway, great album and fabulous quality like all the other pressings. - Edited 5 years agoIn my opinion one of their weakest Albums, It sounds sometimes too commercial and cheesy, nevertheless most of the tracks are satisfying, my top music in this release is "We're all we need" , other tracks that i also like alot are : "Peace of Mind", "counting down the days", "Little something" (reminds me Oceanlab), "All over the world" and "Fly to New York". The track that i like the least or not at all is "Making plans" this music sounds ideal for the credits at the end of a cheap romantic movie, that has nothing to do with Trance, that's called boring pop music. Anyway overall this is a satisfying experience... but when compared with the previous albums "Tri-state" and "Group Therapy" it's a deception.
- Edited 7 years agoWell, this is a more or less difficult one. Looking at "We are all we Need" as A&B 3rd Album, i have to say that it is nothing special and average and would get 3 stars. Some might say that it's bad when looking at A&B as Trance DJs/Producers and comparing to their older Albums.
But i rated it 4 stars beacuse i looked at it from 2 alternative point of views. First, as Music for the Background. When you are writing or reading something it is quite ok. Second and maybe more important, i also listen to EBM Groups like Namnambulu, Chvurches etc. and their sound is classified as Future-Pop and/or Synth-Pop and this fits much better than Trance (or Prog House)! From this Point of view it is still quite a good Album and therefor gets 4 stars but when you expect something else you will be disappointed. - Edited 10 years ago

I've been a huge Above & Beyond fan since the very beginning, and seeing their sound change from Tri-State has made me both pleased and at times cautious about their current progress. I didn't want them to fall into the EDM trap that pretty much every big shot has. They've been known so long for making uplifting trance, so as they eased their way into the tool trance era around 2009 with arguably one of their best tracks ever, "Anjunabeach," I was still a little worried. Fortunately though, "Group Therapy" came around and did end up being a really good album, even though most of its tracks were rather minimalistic.
While the meat of "We Are All We Need" features much more content than its predecessor, at times I felt like I was listening to generic dance music or just didn't like what I heard. Many of the slow tracks felt like slow pop, which could've at least been peppered with some epic Above-&-Beyond-themed samples. Then comes the irritating lyrics of "Excuses," which could've easily been a great instrumental track, and finally "Blue Sky Action," which I've despised since its release. I think it also doesn't help that Richard Bedford is missing from the picture. Alex Vargas is by no means a bad vocalist, but Richard is undeniably the voice of Above & Beyond.
There are some really amazing tracks in here though. "We're All We Need," "Out Of Time," "Save Me," "Counting Down The Days," and "All Over The World," are all highlights, and if I had to put my finger on the best track here, without a doubt, it would have to be "Peace Of Mind." Paired with a drop-dead gorgeous breakdown, the track bolsters an intense finale that only Zoe's vocals could accompany. Euphoric, energizing, and at the same time, sirene; "Peace Of Mind" features the essential elements of a definitive Above & Beyond song. If it took a whole album to release that single track, then yes, it deserves 4 stars.
