Edited 3 months agoBrilliant album by the great Adrian Belew, incorporating the "interesting/avant garde" sounds of his guitar and gtr synth he created during his King Crimson tenure creating a "Guitar Orchestra" with drums played by him (he started as a drummer!) covering various styles a bit "out of left field" yet somehow accessible. Have had it since it came out, mostly on USA cassette which, to me, sounds quite good, obviously would have sounded better on Chrome tape. Sounds like Ade had a lot of fun recording it cause you can sense him smiling while playing all of these sounds which gives you the impression that he does not take himself too seriously, something that is hard to find in the rock world-he is a great guy, I met him in Madrid in 2017. Side one is the most accessible and my opinion is that JUST "Laughing Man" makes this album worth having. Five stars out of five!
