- Edited 3 days agoSound is good, vinyl weighs in at exactly 110g, clean and with low but not inaudible noise floor. Jacket is lightweight card stock but pretty stanard for 90s vinyl. Compression is evident like all the major label commercial vinyl releases of this era, but it hasn’t been crushed to death - there’s plenty of life in vocals and high end overall, and very solid bass, especially on the pumping tracks where it counts. The engineers who mastered and cut this clearly knew what they were doing and walked a fine line making the necessary trade offs where they had to. Anyone who heard this in real time will appreciate a clear “FM radio” vibe and will have no problem cranking this up for an enjoyable listen (and maybe even a dance…). Still, as other reviews have commented on other versions of this LP, wouldn’t we all love to hear a properly done 2024+ style reissue of this 90s masterpiece. (Yes, it’s a masterpiece boys and girls… records don’t get this expensive if they’re just average…. Even if they are rare :-) And if the OG vinyl prices have you down, and you’re on the fence, just get yourself a copy of the CD for now and wait until you stumble upon a reasonably priced copy in the wild, save enough to throw cash a nice copy on the discogs menu , or until we get that elusive reissue…)
- I don’t own this version, I have the Greek EMI Athens press single disc version which I am reasonably happy with (I feel similarly to DrDod about that vinyl version) as well as the Japanese extended CD. My question is- was the 2 LP Brazilian version cut louder or with more bass (wider grooves?). Has anyone compared? That would be quite interesting….

Like everyone below, what is going on??
Is Parlophone just plain stupid?- For the love of God, repress this album please; you have repressed all the other others to death ffs.

a very good album. when a vinyl repress? thank you- Serious question, why has Duran Duran never repressed this album? They've never repressed any of their '90s albums come to think of it, but this is the stand out album thats obviously desirable (just look at these prices) so you'd think that they'd want to make some money off the people that can't afford to drop $300+ on this album. All I can think of is some sort of licensing issue preventing them from legally rereleasing it, because logically, it doesn't make any sense

Стоит создавать ещё одно издание? - Also had the sticky frosting surface on both discs on the playing surface. I used windex (or glassex here in The Netherlands) and it took it right off, the discs look like new again.
