Low Entropy – Acid Massacre

I think I bought this record because of Urban Uprising, the track is built around dark but bubbly as hell old school Acid trapped inside a slower Darkcore production. The haunting Pad that creeps in midway is nice and the echo sound effect sounds like bombs dropped in the ocean. Suck My Cock is a downtempo affair, while Farewell Old World is a solid piece of dark Acid Speedcore. Back To The Oldschool has a distinctive bell ring and odd little riff, the change in tempo would be a helpful DJ tool. Massmedia Thought Control has an unusual time signature, the synths and Acid seem.... off, it sounds just off from a normal 4/4 structure. But for that alone, its quite noteworthy.

Probably my favourite Low Entropy record, I think the TB-303 action involved in the release helps considerably. Low Entropy is one of those unsung heroes of German Hardcore, he is still very active constantly putting out new music. He is also on Discogs and its always interesting to see what he has to say. Black Monolith Records was a good label, I like that the name is a reference to the 1968 movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
