Notes
Originally released on November 3, 1992 by Epic Records.
The band released their demo also Rage Against The Machine, 11 months prior which contained earlier recordings of 7 out of 12 songs found on this album.
With politically themed lyrical content, the album artwork was notable for featuring a graphic photograph of Thích Quảng Đức committing self-immolation. Rage Against the Machine was a critical success upon release with several critics noting the album's politically motivated agenda as well as de la Rocha's strong delivery.
Rated number 24 on the Rolling Stone's list of "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time", the album peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart and number 45 on the US Billboard 200 and has gone on to achieve triple platinum sales certification in the US and produced four singles:
"Killing In The Name"
"Bullet In The Head"
"Bombtrack"
"Freedom"
The band announced on October 9, 2012, via their Facebook page that they would be releasing a special 20th anniversary boxset to commemorate the group's debut album. The boxset contains never-before-released concert material, including the band's 2010 Finsbury Park show and footage from early in their career, as well as a digitally-remastered version of the album, B-sides and the original Rage Against The Machine demo tape (on CD for the first time). The collection was released on November 27, 2012.

NRP = Nashville Record Production? Mine has same runouts but doesn’t have misprinted labels. Mine has the XX hype sticker. I didn’t see pictures in the listing with misprinted labels. Also, no mS in runouts so not same lacquer cut. I picked this up in Sept 24. It does sound quite amazing even though the disk was dirty out of the sleeve. referencing Rage Against The Machine (LP, Album) Z 52959

I believe that this is the pressing I own but its hard to know. My side A has "13546 7A" etched followed by the barcode but no pressing here on Discogs has "7A". This one has up to 6A so its as close as I could get. I do not have the 2017 for sure since that has completely different etchings.
Anyway this along with the 2015 Europe Back To Black Voodoo are my best sounding records. The sound of this press is breathtaking! The base punches you in the gut and everything is crystal clear and separated. I havent heard the original US but this is defenitily better than the original EU CD. Got it for about 25€ aswell which makes it a must have if you cant spend 100€ on an original. 5/5 - My copy clearly has RL in the matrix on A side, B side as this elongated A. Matrix fits perfectly otherwise.
- This digital release (a likely remaster) sounds amazing. The clarity, dynamics, and mix are perfect. This can be played very loud since there's no ear daggers or boomy bass to contend with.
