Rage Against The Machine – Rage Against The Machine

Anmerkungen:
Originally released on November 3, 1992 by Epic Records.
The band released their demo also Rage Against The Machine, 11 months prior which contained earlier recordings of 7 out of 12 songs found on this album.
With politically themed lyrical content, the album artwork was notable for featuring a graphic photograph of Thích Quảng Đức committing self-immolation. Rage Against the Machine was a critical success upon release with several critics noting the album's politically motivated agenda as well as de la Rocha's strong delivery.
Rated number 24 on the Rolling Stone's list of "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time", the album peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart and number 45 on the US Billboard 200 and has gone on to achieve triple platinum sales certification in the US and produced four singles:
"Killing In The Name"
"Bullet In The Head"
"Bombtrack"
"Freedom"
The band announced on October 9, 2012, via their Facebook page that they would be releasing a special 20th anniversary boxset to commemorate the group's debut album. The boxset contains never-before-released concert material, including the band's 2010 Finsbury Park show and footage from early in their career, as well as a digitally-remastered version of the album, B-sides and the original Rage Against The Machine demo tape (on CD for the first time). The collection was released on November 27, 2012.

Absolutely gorgeous release. Bass, details, dynamic range and overall press quality are GREAT. Definitely recommend this edition to purchase!
No skips, sands or others issues for me.

After owning the 2015 Epic/Legacy repress of this, I finally managed to track down an affordable original pressing of this album.
All I can say is that this piece of wax single-handedly beats out any other pressing of this album out that came after by a long shot (save for the ‘09 MOV pressing using the same EU stamper from ‘92). Just the clarity and separation of each instrument in the OG pressing right out of the gate with “Bombtrack” and afterwards, listening to the ‘15 repress and noting how much they muddied the sound down! Night and day difference!
If the price is what’s holding you back on getting the original pressing, just do it and throw the money down for it. You will not be disappointed at all.

Copy is a bit quiet, but pressing and sound quality are good. Nice play, no skips or background noise.

On my third attempt from a large online retailer to get a copy without pops/clicks (even after intensive wet vacuum-cleaning on brand new vinyl). No dice. I’m just going to keep it, it’s such an important album. Hoping maybe it’ll break in, but not holding my breath. The picture disc sounded horrendous surface-noise-wise, this is marginally better

랩메틀의 최고의 밴드, 정치색이 어찌되었든 좋지 아니한가 커버 정말 멋지며 잭드라로차의 보이스는 한번들으면 잊을수 없는 마력을 가지고 있다.

#07740 It has some surface noise but you can't hear when music is playing.

This is a really nice-sounding RM of this classic album! I didn't really feel like the treatment of Evil Empire was any better than the vinyl rips I've heard. But this debut is a keeper and the very best version I've ever heard. Recommended!

The style of this record, including the ferocious riffs of Tom Morello and the rabid rap of Zack de la Rocha is very inspired by the one from the phantasmagoric Dutch band Urban Dance Squad. Nevertheless, this eponymous first album adds elements of funk and obviously a lot of metal, for a thunderous result.
I won't be surprised if the "WAKE UUUUP!!" screams inspired the "SHUUUUT UUUUP!!!" yells in Linkin Park's "One Step Closer" as both sound pretty alike in my opinion.
